Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little Town book discussion
Thursday, June 12, 2008, from 5:30 pm-6:45 pm, the South Dakota State Agricultural Heritage Museum will be hosting historian and author John Miller for a disscussion of his book "Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little Town." The book, written in a series of essays, goes beyond Laura's family history and explores social and community life in late 19th and early 20th centurey South Dakota. Come learn about the ideas of place and community, freedom and control, and love and affection found in the classics of American children's literature. The book is available at the Agricultural Heritage Museum Gift Shop for $12.00, plus tax.

Camp Circle: Coming Home the Dakota Way
Please join the South Dakota State Agricultural Heritage Museum, the South Dakota Humanites Council, and the SDSU English Department for an evening of storytelling, music and dance. Storyteller, Belinda Joe will lead us in sotries and songs about life, love, gardens, growing and friendship. The program is free and open to the public. Familes with children are welcome! The program will be at the State Agricultural Heritage Museum, on the the corner of 11th Street and Medary Avenue, Brookings, SD.
